The Bruce Peninsula is a beautiful part of the province of Ontario where life is shaped by the limestone cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment and the clear waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. The journey to examine life as a Transition Community will encompass interested citizens that reflect all walks of life: farmers, artists, workers, learning mentors, elders and youth, First Nations and those who have recently arrived from near and far, our thinkers and our do-ers, our enthusiasts and our questioners. We are looking for ways the villages, towns, hamlets and ports of the peninsula can become more resilient, independent, and sustainable for a future that is uncertain and will be filled with challenges, and yet promises growth and positive change for our communities. Please use this site as a resource for your own explorations.

    Hi Betsy and Terri,
I thought the presentation by the Transition Community at the Sources of Knowledge Forum was outstanding. I sent the following email to the Board:

    Subject: Some observations

    Greetings everybody,

I thought the presentation by the Transition Community was outstanding. It was informative, thought provoking, fast paced, and offered many practical ideas. I think we should include them in future forums. I sense they would have many things to say about most topics that we would cover. For example, if we tackled sustainable tourism at some future forum, I know they would have a point of view.

  2. I recall you used your time well with a variety of speakers that kept the interest level high. thank you so much.
